Implementation of the Scalar Dissipation Rate in the REDIM Concept and its Validation for the Piloted Non-Premixed Turbulent Jet Flames

In order to address the impact of concentration gradients on chemistry – turbulence interaction in turbulent flames, REDIM reduced is constructed incorporating scalar dissipation rate, which a key quantity describing mixing process. This achieved by providing variable gradient estimate evolution equation. such case, tabulated as function coordinates and rate an additional progress variable. The based detailed transport model including differential diffusion, validated for piloted non-premixed jet flames (Sandia Flame D E). results show that newly generated can reproduce thermo-kinetic quantities very well, molecular diffusion effect also be well captured.
